So here I am. Livin’ the dream, as an old friend used to say. It was initially bumpy just trying to uproot and move to a new city and find employment. But here I am. I love living in NW Portland. I love Portland in general. I love living a seven block radius from, yes, seven different Starbucks. And I love all of the good looking guys with Euro shoes. Yes, Portland is a blessed place.

So it is official that I am now moving to Portland, OR in the next several weeks. I am excited and scared. I just want to say to my friends and family that I will miss you like crazy. But I think that moving to a new city is one of lifes’ greatest adventures. I will live with my friend Melia and her sister and I think the three of us girls may be able to get into a little bit of trouble if we try hard enough. I love you all. Thanks for giving me a reason to miss Eugene.

Ahhh… twenty-three today. As I told a friend, twenty-three used to be my scary age, the age of finally having to be mature and married. Luckily I am neither as of yet.
So today I officially bump up my scary-old-mature age to twenty seven. Things I have managed to accomplish as of late? Well, designing a 67,000 square foot building, working in a local architecture firm, learning AutoCad, watching all but one episode of the OC for two seasons, and the all around best: augmenting my tan. Not too bad for only twenty-three years of life if I do say so myself.

So as I sit here and contemplate the speech I am giving on Gabriel Garcia Marquez for my Spanish Lit class this week, it occurs to me that it is now officially week nine of a ten week term. Praise the Lord. And I am excited to say that this summer holds some amazing opportunities for me to learn, grow, and augment this sad excuse for a tan.

So if y’all have noticed a lack of posts lately it has probably been a lack of truly shareably exciting events. Meaning that in the last coupla weeks there have been no great suprises, traumas, dramas, or vacations. Basicly, life has been smooth sailing with the normal amount of work, homework and the OC. Good times.

Funny how when something amazing happens to you it is so much easier to enjoy all of the little things. Even when your Chai isn’t quite hot enough and you feel bad telling the Starbucks girl, even then, life is still great. May we all have great experiences to remind us of the happy things in life.

Hey guess who is back from eight days in Los Angeles, San Diego, Tijuana, Mexico, and even more if you count Yreka or Weed California. Well, I guess the obvious answer is Sara ’cause I am the only one in control of this blog. Anyway after getting seven hours of sleep in the last three days it was great to come home and nap. I guess everyone would be fascinated with the fact that last night I slept one half hour which was included in my talley for the seven hours in 3 days. This half hour was spent on the floor of the Sea-Tac airpirt. And I believe I would like to take this moment to personally thank the cleaning staff of this particular airport because I have not yet discovered any disease from spending this time on the floor there. If it had been LAX I’m sure this would not have been the case. Anyway, the trip was great. There were the high highs and the low lows but overall my high high definately outweighed the other parts.

So it is officially decided that moi, Laura Sloan, Katie Filker, Bonnie Cheung, Melia Hinatsu, and a cooler full of Diet Hanson’s Black Cherry soda are in line for the most awesome Spring Break ever. Leaving Thursday of finals week and returning @ the end of the following week, our break will consist of three days in LA for LA Fashion Week @ Smashbox Studios, and a week in San Diego for fun, sun and those California boys with the off season tans. Perhaps some will even have accents. I do love those accents.

So it is 3am Saturday (actually Sunday, I guess) and I am awake. Since Tuesday, I have now had the most brutal case of the flu I have had since early childhood days. I have every symptom possible and they all choose to torture me according to their own distinctive time schedules. Just when I believe the cough is conquered, the stuffy nose and sinus pain creep upon me. When these began to wane than the fever and chills come to stay, with the aches. Then my cough gets lonely and has to come and hang out again. Good times. The upside? Well, when was the last time I truly had the luxury of four days in bed? Homework will do itself, right? Especially physics.

So Valentine’s Day is upon us. I do have to admit that I love it. I love everything about this little Hallmark laden holiday. From the red and pink hearts I see everywhere to the cheesy little streamers hanging at Umpqua Bank where I work. I love flowers, chocolate and the thought that this day will be an eternal excuse to wear pink. How can anyone not like that?

So Spring Break is coming upon us very quickly. I am actually excited about this one because it will be the first spring break in college I haven’t worked forty hours. (no offense Umpqua bankers, I do love your company…) So I do believe that in true Sara fashion I am planning a trip somewhere… The girls and I are concocting crazy plans at this very moment.

So do you ever feel so busy that it seems life has broken into a full sprint? I do. Yay for weeks five and six of the term!! PS I despise physics. Oh and congratulations to my siblings who are becoming very rich and successful. Okay maybe just successful at this point.
Robert- way to go for getting into West Point. They don’t accept everyone, that’s for sure. And for my sister who is now the principle fashion model for the Torrid campaign and others in Los Angeles. Also for my brother Paul who is just an all around genius. We are all so lucky that I am not an overly competitive person…
Ciao everyone.

So this message is a “shout out” to several friends that I spend most of my time with lately. I just wanted to say that I love you and you’re amazing. Life wouldn’t be nearly as fun, beautiful, or exciting without you. You know who you are.
